| Jackals To Hold Jersey Auctions During Final Home Game
Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that they will hold two separate jersey auctions on Friday during their final home game of the season. The Jackals will be auctioning off both their game-worn Home White jerseys and their Budweiser/Drink Responsibly Warm Up jerseys, sponsored by Seneca Beverage Corp. Throughout the game fans can place bids on the Warm Up jerseys as they will be the feature of a Silent Auction in the First Arena concourse. All the proceeds for the Warm Up jersey auction will be donated by the Jackals and Seneca Beverage Corp to the Glove House. The Jackals will also hold a live auction for the Game-Worn/Home White jerseys on the ice after the conclusion of the game with the Port Huron Flags. Fans can place bids with auctioneer/public address announcer Mike Strobel, as each Jackals player displays their game jersey.
Torana XU-1 will Test Auction Values
Enthusiasts around Australia are eagerly awaiting Shannons Sydney autumn auction on Monday May 7 to see whether Holdens iconic Torana XU-1 has caught the current Muscle Car collectors fever. While values of Bathurst HO Falcons, GTS 327 Monaros and Charger R/T E38 models have recently been soaring, the XU-1 has been the relative sleeper of the highly modified local cars that were built by Holden, Ford and Chrysler to battle at Bathurst in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Now, many believe the Toranas star is about to rise. Based on the sporty GTR model in the updated LJ Torana range, the GTR XU-1 was built as a Bathurst homologation special. Off the production line its 202-cid six cylinder engine produced 190HP (140kW) at 5600 rpm thanks to triple Stromberg carburetors, a revised camshaft and a lightened flywheel.

Iran seeks bids for nuke stations
TEHRAN, Iran -- Iran said Sunday that it was seeking international bids for building two more nuclear power plants despite international pressure over its nuclear program. "Iran is launching two international tenders for the construction of two nuclear power stations of between 1,000 and 1,600 megawatts capacity in Bushehr," said Ahmad Fayazbakhsh, the deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, who was quoted by the ISNA news agency. He said that contacts already had been made with Russian and European firms, but that with Iran under U.N. sanctions because of its nuclear program, it was unclear if companies would want the risk of taking on the projects. Russia helped Iran build its first, nearly completed, nuclear reactor in the southern city of Bushehr.

The jerseys up for auction may be found on www.eBay.com by typing "Peoria Rivermen Game-Worn Jersey" into the Category Search. Bidding on each jersey begins at $175, and both auctions will last for seven days, closing at 5:00 p.m. (all times local) on Sunday, April 29 and Tuesday, May 1, respectively. All bidders must have an eBay account which can be created at any time. Fans may also click the eBay logo on the right side of the front page of the Rivermen Web site, www.rivermen.net. Each jersey was made by CCM/RBK Hockey from Poly Air Knit Mesh with airflow side panels and underarm inserts.
