Malcolm Wynn, a former police officer and current automobile dealer consultant, said he believes he needed an early start to gain the recognition to win the August 2008 primary election. Retired Michigan State Police trooper Al Navarro said he felt he needed to put his campaign in gear early to stay ahead of the competition.There may be more than Navarro and Wynn seeking the Democratic nomination before the deadline to file rolls around in May 2008. .
SPCA Silent Auction fund raiser
Always a great event, the SPCA will once again be hosting their silent auction and dinner. Fuelled by the generous donations of many of our regions merchants and artists, the SPCA is raising funds to help maintain and care for the animals at their shelter. Currently, there are 25 canines and 40 felines coming from Port, Bamfield, Tofino or Ucuelet who now call the kennel on Broughton home that is a lot of chow come feeding time! I helped by reducing their canine count by one last week our family adopted a 2-year-old female Pittie who is a total gem. Colombia's Inflation-Linked Peso Debt Yields Rise at Auction
April 18 (Bloomberg) -- Yields on Colombian inflation- linked peso bonds increased in a government auction today. Colombia sold the bonds, known as TES-UVR, due in February 2023 to yield 5.7 percent, up from 5.2 percent in the previous sale on March 21, according to the Finance Ministry. Investor demand totaled 114 billion pesos ($53 million), more than the 75 billion pesos worth of the securities offered in the auction. The yield on inflation-linked bonds maturing in September 2010 rose to 4.99 percent from 4.4 percent in the previous sale. Investors placed bids for 168 billion pesos, more than twice the 75 billion pesos sold.
