TwinEngines Inc. continues to support the Atlanta High Museum of Art in its Annual High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction fundraising campaign. Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) April 21, 2007 -- In its 15th year, the 2007 High Museum Atlanta Wine Auction broke all past records -- including a Live Auction total of more than $1.5 million. Silent auctions on Friday night and Saturday and a Paddle Raise brought in another $300,000 for a grand total of over $1.8 million in auction sales.
The 2007 Wine Auction marks the seventh year TwinEngines has participated in this exciting event. Water department will seek bids for two more wells
The Forrest City Water Commission on Tuesday granted permission to Jim Beazley, manager of the Forrest City Water Utility, to bid out two new wells. During the meeting, Beazley told commissioners that the results of one of the most recent well projects are still unknown. Layne Arkansas lowered the screens on the Plant 2 well behind the Forrest City Civic Center, and we havent received the report back on that yet, said Beazley. The well was having problems, and we thought resetting the screens would help it. We hope to have that report soon. I met with the Industrial Development Corporation and they were gracious enough to okay the sites for wells 6 and 7 (in the area of Dawson and Eldridge roads), stated Beazley. Once we get them up and running, it will improve the system.
Role of US buyout firms in BCE bidding raises concern
MONTREAL -- CEO Michael Sabia may have opened up telecom giant BCE Inc. to a lengthy bidding war between Canada's biggest pension funds, but criticism of the potential role of powerful U.S. private equity funds is mounting. One of the potential bidding groups has the world's biggest buyout fund Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. as a minority partner and the other Providence Equity Partners Inc., another huge U.S. buyout firm in the same role. In the event BCE is taken private, Canadian pension funds would be passive partners seeking to bolster returns, while rapid changes at BCE would be dictated by these highly experienced and aggressive U.S. buyout firms that would aim to cash out in two or three years, several investors said Wednesday. .
Fannie Mae to sell $4.0 bln bills on Wednesday
NEW YORK, April 23 (Reuters) - Fannie Mae (FNM.N: Quote, Profile, Research), the largest U.S. home funding company, on Monday said it plans to sell $2.5 billion of three-month benchmark bills due July 25, 2007, and $1.5 billion of six-month bills due Oct. 24, 2007, on Wednesday in a Dutch auction. In such uniform price auctions, successful bidders pay only the price of the lowest accepted bid rather than the actual price as in a conventional multiple-price auction. Bids will be accepted from authorized dealers from 9:00 a.m. EDT (1300 GMT), until 9:45 a.m. EDT (1345 GMT). Settlement is April 25-26. .
