| GSPC to call bids for stake sale - source
MUMBAI (Reuters) - Gujarat State Petroleum Corp. (GSPC) will invite formal bids for selling a stake in its block off the country's east coast, a company source said on Thursday. The bidding will be open to all interested parties and not to just the four firms it had shortlisted in August last year, the official said. "This is going to be a formal invitation of bids," he said. "The situation has changed as we explore more and people are keen to know about the wells." The block in India's prolific Krishna Godavari basin is expected to hold reserves of about 20 trillion cubic feet of gas. The company has also found oil in it. The source declined to give details of new data, but said GSPC would share them with potential bidders. "Everybody who wants to evaluate the latest status will be getting the well data based on which they can make their offers," he said.

SIMPSON BOOK RIGHTS TO BE AUCTIONED
LATEST: The rights to O.J. SIMPSON's scrapped book IF I DID IT is to be auctioned off next month (APR07). Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge GERALD ROSENBERG earlier this month (MAR07) ordered the rights to If I Did It - which hypothetically places Simpson at the scene of the 1994 murder of his ex-wife NICOLE BROWN SIMPSON and her friend RON GOLDMAN - be sold. Details of the sale have been sent to publishers, Hollywood studios and talent agencies, according to Goldman family attorney DAVID COOK, who hinted the family may also bid for the controversial manuscript. Rosenberg previously ruled if the book is ever published, proceeds must help pay off the $33.5 million (GBP17 million) Simpson owes following a 1997 civil case for wrongful death. The sale will take place on 17 April (07), and will be carried out by the Sacramento County Sheriff's department in California.
